Lawyer, public servant, and ethicist specializing in medical law and patients’ rights. Her academic work focuses in particular on women’s reproductive rights. In her daily work, she is engaged in developing a healthcare system that is accessible, of high quality, and safe for all patients, especially pregnant women, people with disabilities, children, and the elderly.

Joanna Gzyra-Iskandar

A cultural studies expert with a background in Polish language and literature, and a feminist. She has worked professionally in PR and communications for 10 years, including 4 years in non-governmental organizations focused on protecting women’s and minority rights. In her daily work as an activist, she focuses on combating gender-based violence and advocating for access to safe abortion.

Joanna Gzyra-Iskandar

Lawyer, criminologist, Latin Americanist, and a certified Spanish–Polish sworn translator and interpreter licensed in Spain. Since 2016, she has been academically engaged in the study of femicide from a comparative perspective, as well as violence against women in Poland and Spain. She has gained professional experience working with both Polish and Spanish government administration, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.
